Use of Cookies
Maes Ebbw School do not use cookies for collecting user information from the site and will not collect any information about you except that required for system administration of the web server.
We collect the IP addresses of visitors so that we can see which pages are most popular.
Explanation of terms;
Browser
a software application used to locate and display web pages, e.g. Google Chrome and Microsoft Internet Explorer
Cookie
a message given to a web browser by a web server. The message is stored by the browser in a text file and is sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. The main purpose of cookies is to identify and possibly prepare customised pages for visitors.
IP
IP allows networks connected to the Internet to send data between two devices. TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) makes a connection between two hosts so that they can send messages back and forth
IP address
an identifier for a computer on a network. If you are connected to the Internet you will have an IP address, which may look something like this: 128.124.88.4
Web server
delivers (serves up) web pages to your computer.
